It was another busy weekend for Law & District AAC at Kelvin Hall as athletes took part in the National Age Group Indoor Championships. It proved to be a very successful two days with many athletes placing in the top 3 in their event. Taking top honours were Wishaw’s Andrew Lawler who competed in the U18M 1500m and won the gold medal in a time of 4:21:99, and Bobby Crossan, from Motherwell, who competed in the U14M Shot Putt, also winning a gold medal with a throw of 11.25m. Our silver medallists were Christopher Boyle, U16M 800m; Evan Jones, U16M 60m Hurdles; Heather Baird, U16W High Jump; Alice McGrath, U18W 800m and Connor Stoney, U18M Shot Putt. Other Law athletes placing well were Emily McNicol, U14W, 60m Hurdles and High Jump, finishing 5th and 7th; Morgan Jones, U14M, 4th in the semi-final of the 60m. Both Pamela McNicol and Heather Baird competed in the U16W 300m with Pamela making it through to the final only to fall ill before the race. A delighted Club President Pat Kelly commended all the athletes who competed at the National Championships on their contribution to a tremendous indoor season for the club.
